Bit off topic but The Crew really should have never got rid of the animations of the car dismantling and putting itself back together. Should’ve made it a bit of an iconic thing from the series.

some notes:
-soz for the weird audio in the videos, i mostly played the game with a podcast in the background which is why it was quiet most of the time
-yes, the macOS footage is on apple sillicon (M3 Pro 36GB MBP to be exact) using Crossover. it does have some graphical weirdness especially in the interior but it's perfectly playable
-there has been some progress in the background on getting the PS4 version of the game working (i may or may not have bought two PS4s because of TCU) but the UDP has a different decryption key from the PC version, so the server cannot currently decrypt PS4 packets just yet.
-most of the footage you saw was recorded on Linux (may not seem like alot, but it took us quite a while to get it working there lol) and yes TCU is therefore Steam Deck compatible.

If I could play Crew 1 online again on console I would drop Motorfest so quickly and easily. Some of the most fun Ive had playing a racing game online with randoms is TC1 from 2014-2024.

The Crew 1 was an amazing gem for us who've played it since day one. This project is an amazing promise to bring back what was stolen by Ubisoft, and this is something they can't take away from us.

When this is done and works the good thing is The Crew 1 is now classified as abandonware so everyone can legally download it from wherever they can and Ubigarbage can't do jack about it, if they ain't letting me buy it from them then imma just get ir from other sources.

Believe it or not a lot of people would actually be super happy get to replay The Crew from the start. The story was actually pretty good. I'm actually more excited about that part of the news than anything else.

Edit: 5:49 They couldve done the same thing Polyphony did with GT Sport. Just release a final update which keep the game playable even when the servers go offline

I jumped out of my bed when i saw the title. The Crew has been one of those games i wanted to play and now that it's shut down never had the chance to. I'm so happy that the community is bringing it back
