Robert Blake is very solid in this, he had a natural way of delivering dialogue that makes me wonder why he wasn't in more movies.

Impeccable timing. A flawlessly executed scene.
Not only do they not make 'em like they used to, to my knowledge they never made any like this at all.

Absolute classic film. This scene reminds me of the line from the UK "world at war" series. A disabled US veteran on complaining about how painful his wounds were gets told by the army Doc "look Son, If you're looking for sympathy you can find it in the dictionary, it's between "shit" and How's about that for bedside manner? No "safe spaces" in those days.
