We have been avid, yes, swooning fans here in Florida of Gigi De Lana and her superb band of talented Pinoy musicians. I never thought that this classic Kenny Rogers love song could still be covered, after countless attempts by excellent cover artists, in this riveting, captivating, truly melodious style and artistry, so fitting to Gigi's unalloyed, pure, truly one-in-a-million vocal quality and pristine, almost effortless style so alien to the "American Idol" generation of caterwauling, cats in a hot tin roof screamers who all shamelessly thought that singing and pitchy screaming are one and the same. What a welcome treat to us, especially during this whole, seemingly endless pandemic nightmare. What a lovely, classic, elegant beauty to embody and emote each song flawlessly! The perfect enunciation, phrasing, and total vocal control that Gigi's youtube performances possess in abundance have totally ensnared us, and we're richer, so much richer for it. Excellence and authentic artistry can finally be defined, not in so many cloying words, but in and by each Gigi De Lana musical offering. I challenge those millions who have viewed, and who keep viewing her performances ad nauseam (who can't resist, really?) would forward links to her shows, both her extended playlists and her solo performances, to all who care about what true vocal excellence is, and what honest, truly magical singing should be. I wish that she and her talented musical family, especially the violin maestro, would remain at the top of their youtube channels and yes, our Philippine concert stages that have given the whole world so many singing sensations and true musical artists. I've been trying to record this one since January (this year) for my parents whom inspired me bc of their love story. They we're both went through a lot of things in life. A perfect soulmates for me. They we're both inseperable. But on 12th of February, my father was diagnosed with diabetes and lung cancer. Labas pasok kami sa hospital and on March 15, pumanaw na sya. I regret not singing this song in front of him with my Mom sa panahon na kasama pa namin sya kasi sa sobrang taas ng expectation ko na gagaling pa sya na nakalimutan ko na tayong lahat ay may hangganan. It's been 6 months but the pain that I'm feeling everyday is as painful as the day he left. My heart is still in pain with the fact that I lost my father and Mom lost the greatest love of her life. The moment I hear this cover, iyak lang ako ng iyak. Thank you Ate Gigi and band for this cover 🙏🏻

The lyrics..of this song is divine and pure, when you felt how the LORD stayed with you and me, through all these turbulent, trying, difficult years, ..and came to where we are now. It was because of HIM..not..us.
