Thank you to everyone who shared their story of a similar encounter when opening up to a school counselor. I made this video to shed light on an issue but also in a comedic way. I hope none of you find this video insensitive, my only goal is to spread love and laughter but to incorporate messages in my videos as well.

Schools when a kid is being bullied for months: Do nothing

Schools when said kid finally snaps and takes matters into his/her own hands: Suspends the kid and allows the bully to get away with it

It's sad how realistic this is sometimes. Our counselor was exactly like this. He was replaced after a girl committed and the counselor who replaced him was much better. Sad it had to happen like that.

This is actually infuriating. People at schools don’t understand that one if somebody’s bullying you you can’t be friends. Two that if somebody comes running at you, about to punch you in the face then your going to fight back and three. Fighting back against bullying doesn’t mean your crazy.

This shit is so true, schools won’t do shit to any students who are well known and favored by other teachers and students

So accurate. “You can trust me. Tell me how you’re feeling.” Then you’re in a nut hut for 72 hours.

I threw a chair at my school counselor because they didn't believe me and made me feel like the aggressor. He said I was weak and needed to man up. And said the same thing, 'boys being boys.' He also told the teachers about my issues, even tho he said it's private and confidential. I snapped, launched a chair at him and threw his computer across the room. Ended up excluded for a week and had anger management classes with a psychologist. He left after. After that I stood up for myself and the bullying stopped. Rather everyone left me alone. It's been 12 years since and life is good.

I remember having an experience like this with a school counsellor. I was being bullied by the entire school and didn't have any friends, and I remember the school counsellor telling me that I'm "not special", as if she was implying I had some superiority complex and thought I was special and above all the other kids and THAT'S the reason why everybody was bullying me, I was doing it to myself. In reality I was just the quiet, anxious kid with low self-esteem and everyone thought I was weird.

Contrary to popular belief, most bullies aren’t abused at home and actually have a ton of self confidence. Confidence that lets them think they can push others around and more often than not, are rewarded for some of their more brash traits and rarely deal with the consequences of picking on others. You’ve also got those that do it because they *ARE* abused, so they seek groups out that are similar to them and they form packs which only reinforce their shitty behaviors, but again, that’s still no excuse.

This shit is facts-
Once I was depressed and was drawing and I drew a picture of a thunderstorm with like the sound effects of it in a comic book style and they sent me to the counselors office and said they were worried about a school shooting JUST because of that picture. Fucking wow.

Wow yeah, this is so accurate. When I was in grade 2, I told my teacher about how my dad had a drinking problem and he would sometimes hit me when he was drunk. My teacher told my parents what I said, which obviously made things worse. I refused to participate in class for the rest of the year after that and never spoke to that teacher. She reported me to guidance and they made me talk to the counselor. The counselor kept prying about what I told the teacher, so I told her the same thing again. She told my parents again. Things got worse again. I wrote on my homework that I wished the teacher and the counselor would “feel the pain I felt because of them.” They reported me to the principal and I got in a ton of trouble and again things got worse at home. After that I just never told anyone about my childhood trauma because everyone was too stupid to help.
Now I teach special ed and I help kids in similar situations all the time. I love my job.

This is why I never liked talking to my counselor.
