I played Efren in 2017; the game was the best three out of five in nine ball. Of course he beat me and I enjoyed it. – – – If you are ever in the Huntsville Alabama area just stop by Steve's Cue and Grill – – – as you walk in you will see a picture of Efren and I on the left just outside the entrance of my cue repair shop – – – I'm there every week, if I'm not in my shop just walk up to the bar and look to your right – – – I am normally setting at the first table having coffee or unsweetened tea if I am not teaching someone how to shoot pool – – – if you shoot pool, since I own all the Diamond pool tables in the bar, the table time will be on me and I will let you break!

Efren, learning about you has caused me to fall in love with watching pool. Over 2 years of watching every video of you that I could find and now I'm watching all the tournaments and paying for pay-per-view all thanks to watching you play.

It truly amazes me that just a few months from turning 70, you are still playing and dangerous on pool table. Our birthdays are a mere 10 days apart. I am 10 days older than you. You are walking around pool tables and playing strong and I am bedridden. It makes me proud to see someone my age that is still playing extremely well and teaching youngsters and happy to share his lifetime of knowledge.

I’m from India and literally grew up seeing glimpses of Bata weave his magic. Perhaps even he doesn’t know that he had a small base of loyal fans in India !!

Grandmaster Efren. I don't know what else to call you since there is no such title for a great pool player like there is in chess. I have watched you over the years, and re-watched many videos over and over and over. Your humility, excellence, coolness under pressure, willingness to take a tough shot and succeed, are an inspiration to anyone in any sport in the world, not just pool. I'm not Filipino, but I am proud of you like you were from my country. May God continue to bless you as you continue to inspire young people to focus on the fundamentals including caroms, the diamond systems, the other variables in the game like cloth and pocket size and shape, and the peculiarity of the rails on the table. You make it look easy. Thank you for all that you have allowed us to witness in your games.

I'm a Filipino. Speaking is not EFREN BATA REYES... Efren don't have a time to do this kind of stuff on youtube and more likely not interested to do this 😅 but i will still support this kind of channel.

There are so many aspects of the Magician's game to appreciate, but mine may surprise many of you. As tempted and worthy as his cue ball control is to top his attributes involving all games of billiards, my favorite quality he possesses is his respectful, lighthearted, and humble attitude before, during, and after matches. A gentleman and true master of the game of all time.

That's not Efren speaking. That is Cesar Morales.

Efren is very humble yet a hustler. He can easily beat his opponent but he made it look like a tough game so he can play in other billiards competition.

Mr Reyes is a very humble man. You can tell because he often uses the word luck.
I played a LOT of pool and practiced 8 hours a day for hours years (It was awesome because I managed a billiards store and could get in about 4 hours of practice a and then go home and play at least that on my table at home) anyway I had so many people say "You're so lucky" and it would drive me nuts because how can you be lucky if you call your shot? Is it a shot I could make 10 out of 10? Of course not but when you practice certain banks, kick outs, and every semi impossible shots for week's if not month's you can't call that luck.
Mr Reyes when it came to pool you were not lucky you were that great.. Thank you for all I've learned watching you and the endless hours of pure entertainment. 🎉❤

I hallucinated thinking it was Efren Reyes speaking, but his English seemed too good. Then I saw the comments and they confirmed my suspicion. but thank you for this incredible experience. I really enjoyed your video.

Jim Rempe was a criminally underrated player. Past his prime here but could still take the best in the world to the limit.

It's wonderful to hear Efren's call of the match. I'm a big fan watching from Boston, USA. Anytime I meet someone from the Philippines I bring up Efren's name. I always get a smile that beams with pride.

I was happy to be alive and interesting in pool while Efren Reyes was doing his thing. Some of the most amazing shots I ever saw in a pool game, were happily captured on video. I am not much into most sports. But pool is different, because I played a lot of it, and the strategies are interesting. The game is almost mathematical in a way.

Efren is a great husler, he could have won the frame 4 to 11 but that wouldnt have let him in on the real prize that is the money for future games and matches with players, he was that good, make them believe they could win, i havent seen efren loose any big matches with big money on the table
