Love & Forgiveness by J.E Sunde and Dory Bavarsky

I'm excited to share this, the first single from the forthcoming collaborative EP, "Songbook, Vol. 1", that I made with Dory Bavarsky. Dory is an incredible composer from Los Angeles who I have admired for a long time and after dipping our toes into some collaborating with each other over the last couple years, we decided we wanted to make a proper THING together. After discussing what that THING might be for a while, we determined that with a handful of tunes that I had that drew inspiration from the Great American Songbook and a collaboration Dory had been cultivating with the string players Karl McComas-Reichl (Cello, Upright Bass) and Rhea Fowler (Violin) we could make something focused around voice, piano, cello and violin and indebted to the harmonic sensibility of the Great American Songbook era. So that's what we did.

Recorded live in an afternoon at a studio in Los Angeles (deep in the valley), we captured a feeling and a performance that I'm excited about.

"Love & Forgiveness" is a singer/songwriter, gospel inspired tune that speaks to the desperate hope for the possibility of reconciliation and forgiveness.
