Admittedly, separating the modulating key/mode onto a separate hand makes it much easier to ingest vs. an all at once presentation✌️ thanks for illumination

While many young pseudo-composers try to impress the audience running complex passages without any plausible compositional reasons, a simple approach like this one you've pointed out can produce a great effect! Nice video!

Very nice! I also use interlocking hands on block chords so that each hand is playing a wide interval but the result is a close-position chord. I’m sure I took this from Schumann. It allows you to voice the sonority in ways that aren’t possible if all four notes are in the same hand. It also re-sorts the chord in your mind and ear. You hear the wider consonant 4ths, 5ths and 6ths, and the 2nds as a subtle resultant. Ravel uses it too.

I was a dance accompanist in my college years at the MN Dance Theater. I had a great mentor named David Voss. I learned so much from him but class could be very taxing - physically and even more so, mentally. I mostly accompanied modern dance classes and was able to experiment with harsh dissonance. I wasn’t hip to the interlocking hand bit back then. I wish I had been - it’s such a perfect texture for dance classes. And a great way to keep things interesting for the pianist.

Your videos are triggering - but in a very positive way! Inspiring - that’s a better word :-)

I've been experimenting with technique using 2 midi keyboards. Using 2 keyboards allows for full hand positioning with very intimate overlapping. It also allows for simultaneous note playing from each hand adding for very interesting effects. Effects that sound impossible on the piano. The two keyboard technique works great for other sounds Then piano as well.

Dear Sir, you are way too humble.

9:28 Is it the norm for the right hand to be above the left hand until it encounter peculiar situations as you have demonstrated here. I like the synergy.
