The song was recorded by Yvonne Elliman for the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack....
Don't know why I'm surviving every lonely day
When there's got to be no chance for me
My life would end

And it doesn't matter how I cry
My tears of love are a waste of time
If I turn away
Am I strong enough to see it through?
Go crazy is what I will do

If I can't have you, I don't want nobody baby
If I can't have you, oh oh oh oh
If I can't have you, I don't want nobody baby
If I can't have you, oh oh oh oh

Can't let go, and it doesn't matter how I try
I gave it all so easily
To you my love

To dreams that never will come true
Am I strong enough to see it through?
Go crazy is what I will do

If I can't have you, I don't want nobody baby
If I can't have you, oh oh oh oh
If I can't have you, I don't want nobody baby
If I can't have you, oh oh oh oh
Oh, If I can't have you, I don't want nobody baby
If I can't have you, oh oh oh oh
If I can't have you, I don't want nobody baby
If I can't have you, oh oh oh oh
If I can't have you, I don't want nobody baby
If I can't have you, oh oh oh oh
If I can't have you, I don't want nobody baby
If I can't have you, oh oh oh oh
If I can't have you, I don't want...

Someone below asks, who's listening in 2024? Who's not? This., and a handful of other songs of this era, defines my youth, and remains my life's soundtrack.

The BeeGees. Incredible songwriters. Yvonne did a great job of performing this tune.

I start to shed a tear 😢 because we had something special in the 1970s that can never duplicated just appreciated, people back then were so genuine and mellow and full of life not like today. This song 🎵 reminds me of such beautiful and innocent times ! I actually won a dancing contest with my wife dancing to this song !

日本人で今年で還暦のおやじです。
まさしく私の青春時代の曲で懐かしく涙がでてきます
あの時代に戻りたい・・・・・・楽しかった!

Thank God for good band teachers.

"According to Elliman, she was truant during her senior year at high school but graduated owing to the intervention of the school's British-born band teacher (Peter Wilcox), who persuaded her teachers to pass her and encouraged 17-year-old Elliman to relocate to London and pursue a musical career, which she did shortly after graduating"

Three fun facts, Yvonne Elliman is the first Japanese American to win a Grammy, born and raised in Hawaii to Japanese mother and Irish father. The soundtrack Saturday Night Fever won a Grammy for Album of the year and the Bee Gees put this masterpiece together.

Look at the light of life beaming through her eyes! We all have a period in our lives when we come to our full potential and blossom like a flower in the summer sun. Here it was clearly her time to shine, and, as it was captured on film, she will shine forever.

Her voice was so soft, really nice tone. This song was perfect for her to sing. Barry Gibb was a genius.

I live in Hawaii and I was invited to a party in Haiku Plantation...I was shocked to see Yvonne at the party! I've always loved this song but more importantly, I've always had a crush on this beautiful and talented woman. My heart was pounding when I met her! Very sweet, absolutely genuine, and if I weren't in a relationship at the time...I would have told her that I loved her! You never know...anyway everything about this amazing woman...is amazing! 😘😘😘
