Hello everyone and welcome to Music Theory with GUIM! In this installment we take a look at Franz Schubert's Klaglied, which is an early composition of his that... well, you might not have heard of, especially if you're not digging into his library of works. This was written around the time he was 15 and is a very solid example of minor harmony with a dash of flair thrown in.
So check out this short video and learn a little bit about the early stages of Schubert's harmony! We'll be returning to this lied in episode 2, but we'll also be looking at loads of other compositions by Schubert in the future.
