Johnny Depp and director Gore Verbinski, who worked together in Pirates, reunite for the CG animated film Rango, for which Paramount has released a behind the scenes featurette. Based on an original idea by Verbinski, Rango is scripted by The Aviator scribe John Logan. Johnny Depp stars as an Hawaiian-shirt-wearing "chameleon with an identity crisis." Previous information has stated that Rango is "a oddly charismatic household pet that goes on an adventure to discover its true self." The movie co-stars Isla Fisher, Abigail Breslin, Alfred Molina, Bill Nighy, Harry Dean Stanton, Ray Winstone, and Timothy Olyphant as The Spirit of the West.

I like how they used this method of acting instead of just standing in front of a microphone with headphones on and reading lines off a script...this really seemed to help get the actors in character.

Disney began this type of filming back in the 30's when they were making Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. They would have the actors act out the movie and the animators would watch and use their movements and emotions to create the characters. I'm glad they are bringing this back it gives this movie so much more character and realism. well surrealism really
