Shishkin returned to his brilliant best with an emphatic win in the Grade 1 Betfair Ascot Chase for Nico de Boinville and Nicky Henderson, and now seems set for the #CheltenhamFestival in the Ryanair!

Was there on Saturday and he was majestic. The horse is a machine at his best. The Ryanair is definitely the right call for this year I think and if he wins that then I'd then aim for the Bowl at Aintree over 3m which would really suit him and show whether he has the stamina for that. If he does they can then look at the Gold Cup for next year.

I was expecting Shiskin to win comfortably, but that was electric. He just needs to rock up in the same form at cheltenham and the ryanair is there for the taking.

I thought Shiskin was finished but that was an excellent performance. A lot of people will crab the form but the same people were going mad over GDC beating Fakir early on in the season. I'd love to see him go for the GC as a horse of that calibre deserves to take his chance. If he doesn't stay then they can go back in trip for the Ryanair next year.

Sad that we will not see him in the gold cup this year but at least he will win the Ryanair.
