Attention: JOB SEEKERS

This video is a small effort to help job seekers by providing insight into my personal experience. I have covered some of the areas to focus and the things to do in each of those areas. I understand that job seeking experiences vary from person to person, company to company. However, I have tried to include some general tips based on my journey. I hope it will be helpful!

Great video and your tips are spot on - they will be of great help to anyone seeking a job!

Just to add from my own personal experience as well -

1. Always customize your cover letter and resume per each position you apply for. Mass mailing doesn't work. Spend time on each application. Focus on quality than quantity.

2. Ask for feedback from each interviewer at the end. Ask them if you can address any questions they have regarding your suitability for the job. Trust me, it works like a charm. The interviewer knows you are focused on your personal growth and even if you don't secure the job, you could take that feedback in to consideration when applying next.

3. Always send a thank you message to the interviewer and if needed, reiterate #2. If nothing, it keeps your connection warm and the interviewer / HR / recruiter keeps you in mind for the next position they know of. Soft skills matter a lot.

4. Even if the interview these days is online and not in-person, do not underestimate the importance of a proper dress code. We recently hired someone in our team and now joke about how he was the only one who wore a tie among all applicants, but (know what) it did work in his favor! He was hired 'cos we knew he was serious enough to attend to that detail too. It's safe to err on the side of caution.

Now I really wish I was a jobseeker! Had I got this kind of guidance during my time, I would have been fully motivated & confident to tackle any issues related to job seeking!
