It's hard to believe this has happened. My siblings and I were at Sly Park with my parents and on our way home, at around 7:30, we got a message about a fire nearby. Sunday morning we helped my parents prepare to evacuate. They went back yesterday but they got out safe.

I know that California is incredibly beautiful, and it's home to so many people, but I just could not imagine staying there given what's happening with the climate. My heart goes out to the people affected by these fires.

Always act before the smoke/fire cuts you off from the roadway out from your home, even if the smoke/fire is not at your home. And think of the traffic that you may run into. Stay ahead of the situation!
Can't get insurance, can't hold PG&E accountable (thanks Newsom!) if they're responsible, so what do home owners do? Invest in fire protectant foam.

California needs rain but with rain comes lightning, good Lord you folks can’t catch a break. The best I can say is be safe, property can be replaced lives cannot, God Bless the Heroes putting their lives on the line to stop these disasters.

Trying to see Parkside CT in GF. My parents are safe at our house in elko so it's just a waiting game tell we can go see if the years of preparation has paid off knowing this was a possibility. Very sad we spend billions of dollars in stupid special interest groups and yet can't afford to have personnel and equipment ready to jump when needed. This is nothing new. It's a every year problem and we won't let responsible logging or spend money to help manage dense populated areas. Well guess they are not very populated anymore. 😔

I have a new philosophy I've adapted: Taking a step beyond learning or sharing news each time or we'll just be bystanders. I'm asking for help with this, if we share ideas and what to do we can solve things.
California is burning; whole towns, cities are next. We have little water. We all know our politicians have not addressed this so pointing fingers goes nowhere. "Recall Newsom" unless you have a named candidate with a clear plan, please don't give that input.
Our family has cabin in a town, everyone has cleared lots but it's when not if.
Can people give ideas how we deal with this?
