Really fun Overview and very enjoyable walk through of some interesting comparison highlights from the novel writing to the comic adaptation. I do like Neil Gaimans writing and the volume 1 collection really looks nice. Throw in subject matter I’m really into reading right now I can’t help but sing in my head “I want it all, I want it ALL....Right Now!” Thank you so much Melanie.

Melanie looking all cute in that thumbnail. I love Neil Gaiman, but I've not read this one.

I'm with Omar on this one: I'm waiting on the library editions. Love Neil Gaiman's Norse Mythology and I can't wait to have this adaptation in oversized format on my shelves.

Yay Melanie! Go Melanie! I'm so happy I'm not the only one who thinks Mignola's art "...Isn't for me". Your past transgressions of liking Venom are hereby totally forgiven.

Perfect timing. I went down to my local Library and picked this up on a whim and find you've done and review of it already. Will read it over the weekend but thanks for the overview of what to expect.

Seems like Gaiman did a great job addapting the original myths. I'm not that well read on them but we had to read some in school (I'm swedish) and the dry humor was there in those old stories as well. Now I want to read both Gaimans book and the comic.

Craig Russell and Neil Gaiman are always a winning combination. Wish he'd do the whole thing, but none of this looks bad.

Thoroughly enjoyed the graphic novel, I also enjoyed the novel. They are different, the comic does some things better than a novel and vica versa. I agree, the humour is better in the novel. My favourite novel series related to Loki etc is 'The Gospel Of Loki' by Joanne Harris, she has an amazing sense of humour as well.

I recommend listening to the audiobook of Norse Mythology. Neil Gaiman narrates it himself and does an incredible job.

I really liked that you compared the novel with the comic pages. I've held of on picking the comic up because I like to think that Dark Horse will release an all in one Library sized OHC when the series is finished.

Nice idea for a video Melanie, I think a few more like these would be good. As an example, you could look at George R Martin's books to comics comparison

Great overview Melanie! Thank you. Debating whether to pick up the novel now.

Never read the prose story so thanks for the textual comparison. Bought the first half in single issues and this review cements my desire not to double dip with second half by collecting it via library edition. This review also tells me I should read Gaiman's prose story and not just the comics adaptation.

This was a fun series, but I'm glad I collected them in the single issue form thanks to those awesome Mack covers

I love P Craig Russell and if he had provided the art this would be an absolute buy.

I loved the book too, but i agree with Omar on waiting for the Library Edition. That's the route I'll be taking.
