there's a real escape game up in Vancouver that's set in a guy's mindscape.

Highly recommend Oxenfree!!! It's like if Gravity Falls, Twin Peaks, and Alan Wake somehow made a baby.

"The only limit is what areas you can survive."
I wish more open world games were like that. So many have scaling leveling systems so that you can go pretty much anywhere but as you level up so does everything else. So you don't really encounter the super hard area and think, oh i'll come back and check that out later. Instead you just take out each area as you come to it as if it was meant to be handle at exactly the level you currently are.

Ah, I absolutely loved North!! Glad to see it's getting more attention. I liked how it used obscuring information from the player to achieve a certain feeling. Definitely worked on me.

Also, that escape the room game sounds great. Definitely gotta try it.

If you're looking for games then Spec Ops the Line is $1 on Humble Bundle, and is one of the best games I've ever played

Did you ever mention "The Magic Circle" in any of these? I feel like it was terribly overlooked last year, one of the best indie titles that absolutely no one heard about.

The cube series is pretty brilliant and chilling.

Stellaris is indeed one of the greatest Sci-fi Strategy games i have ever played. i clocked in 90+ Hours on one play through, becoming one of the strongest Empires militarily and fending off the Invasions of the Unbidden, interdimensional creatures with near-god-like technology and a hunger for All things in the universe. ah, that was fun

Artifact Adventure looks more like Dragon Quest/Warrior imo, though they are both fairly similar.

So nice to see Battlecry 3 get some love.

One thing that makes Oxenfree even more intriguing and fun is the secret morse code and other secrets that are part of an ARG during or after you play through the story

Can confirm that the entire Cube Escape series is quite good. They're mostly thematically connected, but it's probably best to play them in order for some plot details and recurring characters.

Thank you for giving Artifact Adventure some love! I've been playing it on my Steam a bit lately, as well as put up a first impressions video of it on my own channel! I really love it!

Just played and beat Oxenfree this past weekend. Very very good. Had my hair standing on end several times.

Omg, finally someone mentions the Warlords Battlecry series. I absolutely love the first game as a kid, even though I wasn't as good at it back then lol.
