I remember racking up $50 playing F-Zero on a hotel pay-to-play machine when I was seven, much to the dismay of my parents, and we used to have tournaments on the SNES.  I'd destroy everyone with the Wild Goose.

When I got a 64 for my birthday in sixth grade, F-Zero X was pretty much the only game I needed to own.  It's definitely the best in the series.

Immersing yourself in another world. That's more or less exactly what makes F-Zero so special to me. Each GP unfolds like a new story in a universe that runs entirely on pure cool and the comic style really helps selling the rudimentary graphics.
