Our Final Day in Iceland - Guide to REYKJAVIK + Food Tour!!!

Показать описание
Our last and final full day in Iceland was spent in the city of Reykjavik. Reykjavik isn't a very big city, so we recommend you only need a day to see everything.
We began our morning by getting some baked goodies from Braud & Co and followed it up with coffee from Reykjavik Roasters.
We went to see the outside of Hallgrimskirkja, the tallest church (and building) in Iceland and a famous structure in Reykjavik. Church was in service so we returned at a later time to see inside. There's a famous rainbow road that you always see pictures of, so we stopped there too to grab some pictures.
We walked maybe ten minutes from the city center to go to the Harpa Concert Hall, whose design is supposed to reflect basalt columns and see the Sun Voyager sculpture. The Sun Voyager is supposed to look like a Viking longship!
After walking back to the city center we grabbed hot dogs at a notorious hot dog cart and got rye bread ice cream at Cafe Loki.
We still had the whole other half of the day open, so we drove about 45 minutes to Thingvellir National Park. Thingvellir is the only UNESCO World Heritage site in Iceland. There is a lot to explore in the area, but we mainly went to see the Law Rock or Logberg, where Parliament meant many many years ago.
We finished our day with some more ice cream from Omnom (as well as buying a lot of chocolate). We absolutely loved their ice cream! Probably one of the best food items we got.
Then… that leads us to our final morning. We packed up everything, dropped off our rental car, and got shuffled over to the airport. We were definitely tired from all our travels but so proud of what we achieved. We drove the whole ring road in just 6 days!!! We saw so many beautiful sights that we will never forget. Iceland will always have a special place in our hearts.
