They're actually working to get rid of these questions. These questions provide no value. They just mess with interviewees and make the company end up missing some amazing talent.

1. Pizza
person eats 1 slice every 2.5 weeks (guess), a slice is around 1/2 sqft. thats 10 sqft per year per person. 320mil ppl times 10 = 3.2bil sqft each year.

2.
you put 4 balls on each side. whatever side is lighter, you disregard those. then you put two ball on each side from remaining pile, whichever side is lighter, you disregard those. of the two remaining balls you put one on each side and there you have it. It takes three attempts. (WRONG)
other commenter pointed out a strategy with setting two aside and weighing 3v3. if they are equal you measure 1v1 from the set of 2. if one set of three is heavier, you remove 1v1 from that set. if they are equal, you know its the remaining ball from the set that was not weighed, and if one is heavier you know its that one (TWO TRIALS).

3. Hitler was an evil psychopath obviously. also a pursuasive speaker, powerful leader, and ambitious person. also progessive with drugs, banning cigarettes.

4. if its in a dual url bar, then google home page comes up. if not, then a search for google comes up.

5. break it apart and build it back on the other side. also you could stabilize with cranes, dig under foundation, lift onto flatbody vehicle, transfer to boat, do the same on other side and put it into a pre-dug whole.

6. Covid-19 will increase digitization at Goldman, where IB'ers are on zoom calls instead of travelling and traders need expensive proprietary tech shipped home.

7. if you have a creative business with no effeciency, then you will not be profitable and will fail. an efficient business can steal your idea, do it effeciently and be profitable. Effeciency.

8. Friends would say I am real (never two-faced), but they would say I am annoying (play too much).

9. Does not specify inanimate, so I would be UFC Fighter GSP (he is mentally and physically healthy, succesful and wealthy)

10. when ppl waste and are inconsiderate of my time.

Answer to second question is simply binary search. Half the balls, 4 on each side. Then weigh the heavier side balls, 2 on each side. Then weigh the 2 single last balls from the heaviest side and you will get your heaviest ball. So the answer is 3 times, (4, 2, 1)

I think the solution to 2nd question is, say you have 8 identical balls, so you test the first ball with 7 other balls. similarly, you check for ball2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 7 times with other times, so that's like 7 to the power 8, that's the worst case scenerio, that you find the heaviest ball in the end - say 8th and 7th ball, with 8th being the heaviest. now, for best case, you find the heaviest ball in the first check- say 1st and 2nd ball, with 1st being the heaviest- hence the number of operations/comparison involved is 1.
