Editing My Voice Lower to sound 'Normal' (Wolfychu and SweetoTOONS)

New Wolfychu storytime about my "fake voice"! In my most recent video where I talked about how people thought my voice wasn't real and so I got cancelled, I mentioned how people used to edit my voice and lower the pitch of it to try to prove that to be my real voice. I decided to try editing the pitch of my voice myself today too because I thought it would make a funny video! My boyfriend SweetoTOONS joined me for this video as a fun little collab and I got him to edit his own voice to see how that sounds too!

A few simple points on why Wolfychu's voice is, in all likelihood, actually as high pitched as presented in her videos.

Firstly, if you'll listen to 0:35 you hear Wolfy actually lower her voice naturally to a level some would consider more "normal". Now, I'm not sure if any of you picked up on it in that clip, but as a Voice Actor who is generally very aware of how my own voice sounds in certain circumstances, I think it's clear in that clip that Wolfychu is actually straining her vocal chords and speaking differently to go that low. You can hear a bit of rasp in the back of her throat and when she makes the "o" sound in 'voice', you can hear her pushing the front of her mouth forward because she actually makes a slight "oo" sound. These signs are generally indicative of someone trying to speak in a range lower than what's natural for them. On top of that, you can also hear that her voice lacks literally any and all base from the back of the throat and chest. As a general rule in my experience, even women who speak only an octave or two lower than Wolfychu, naturally, have some level of base in their voice that is quite difficult to completely hide.

Secondly, even assuming that Wolfychu is pitch-shifting her voice upward and changing the EQ to reduce base (which doesn't even make sense because there are plenty of clearly raw recordings of her where she's talking like this), you can't hear any base in her voice, speaking in a lower pitch or otherwise, which tells me that she just has a voice that works in a naturally higher range. Now is it possible that she might purposefully speak that high? It's not impossible, but simply for the fact that the sound of her voice doesn't imply the capability of going deeper like I'd expect from someone who is purposefully trying to speak in a higher pitch (and I'm talking Voice Actresses I know who've been doing this stuff for years, I can still tell), I just don't see that being the case.

Finally, I pose this question... Why? Like, genuinely, why? Why the Hell would Wolfychu go out of her way to put on a fake voice literally all the time. You could argue it's because she wants to sound more "cute", and while there are plenty of people who do that, in my experience dealing with those people at least, it's not a constant act. Maybe it's because she wants to sound more like an Anime Character because that's what the kids these days consider "Kawaii" or "Sugoi". But as someone who literally puts on fake voices for a living, it doesn't make any logical sense to keep up a years long act as this high pitched anime girl (and rather impractical at that since some sort of slip-up would've been caught after all these years). As a Voice Actor, I could put on a voice in a different pitch, accent, cadence, whatever you like, from my natural voice, and I could probably go for hours at a time, but eventually your voice will slip in some way. This kind of stuff is a performance, it's draining, and it's draining enough when you're streaming or recording as yourself, but to then put another performance on top of that just seems far too difficult to keep up without some sort of mistake. Wolfychu just has a high pitched voice, end of story.

People who doubt that voices can be this high in adult hood never has seen the Lady who plays Bart Simpson at cons, she has a naturally high voice as well. It exists.

i actually pointed this out in a "wolfy exposed" video before. when editing a voice, there is a distortion to it no matter how you edit it, which if you have sensitive hearing, allows a person to easily tell when a voice has been edited. which is how I knew you don't edit your voice.
