When you do the Dynamic EQ irt would be nice how it effects the entire mix, as well as the vocal rider

Thank you for the attack and release info in compression. I’ve been watching a lot of videos learning how to mix. Maybe I just didn’t notice it because I didn’t know as much. But out of all the videos, I’ve watched and I watched a lot, don’t think anyone is really put it in terms like you did. So helpful! This will help me a ton.
Actually I’m trying to hone in on creating a pedal steel sound. So close attack baby

Waves SSL Channel strip on EVERY guitar channel. Use high pass at 90-100 to pull out low end mud. (listen)
Dial back the input level so you can turn up/get the right input signal on your track in the DAW. Thanks, Andrew.

I loved the lesson. Rock guitar is so tricky to mix and I have to say I still need a lot of work on it. Thanks for the lesson and the good advise

A 6 (or more!) string guitar has a very wide pitch range. If I have drums, bass, and vox, I will usually high pass around 200 during verses. Depending on the chorus it may benefit from a little more low end extension, maybe high as well; and I'll usually drop down to 100 and boost some upper mids during solos since it's not competing with vocals.

Also if you are high passing closer to the 200 range, a gentler slope like 6db may be less jarring.

Great video, just for the explanation of compression alone, but the entire video is a solid overview of mixing guitar. I like Kemper profiles since I don’t have anywhere to mike up a loud cab without annoying my neighbors. Mixing always feels like trial and error, I’m trying to get some base settings at this point. Identity what I like in the mix and stay consistent from track to track. I feel like I do more mixing than playing when I record…

Hey Andrew, is all you work with is Logic Pro X? I have Logic Pro X and seen so many tutorials bounce with DAWS and am looking for a channel/s that only deal with Logic Pro X as a DAW. Thanks.

DO YOU HAVE GUITAR PROCESSING GIG ON FIVERR?

By itself… what you’re doing sounds OK. But eq’ing anything by itself is quite useless without the other instruments playing. By itself, how would anyone know what to add or subtract…compress, not compress?

Could you explain the SSL eq part - you said the idea is that it's not doing much eq but being driven hard - but it's got no additional input gain, it's doing heavy eq and then being turned down, which seems to be the exact opposite?

Why do have rock music playing when you're talking?

Please turn of that music during talking:)

Andrew, been watching for a bit. Thanks for the video. As I was watching I was thinking, maybe if you put a gate on your speaking mic then when you aren't talking it would be easier to hear the music you are highlighting. Thanks for the video.
