Immanuel Kant in ~ 100 Seconds

Immanuel Kant was boring. But his philosophy can never be condensed in 100 seconds, but here's an attempt anyway. René Descartes aimed to establish the cogito as the foundation of knowledge, David Hume emphasized empirical data, and Plato proposed immutable forms as the ultimate reality. Immanuel Kant, however, asked a more fundamental question: How does the human mind structure our understanding of the world, morality, and beauty?

Who am I?
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I have a lot of dumb ideas. I tend to write them down and then revisit them from time to time. Sometimes, the world and/or my own understanding of it has moved enough to where it can now be taken to a new place. If you’d like to talk, I’d love to hear from you.

Enjoy!

"this is the man who made philosophy as fun as watching paint dry but twice as important."

Awesome. Philosophers in 100 seconds.

Can you please do Hegel, Spinoza and Nietzsche as well?

A very well made video, but that's just my perception.

Kant and Descartes are probably my favourite of the big name of the enlightenment, but I really have a soft spot for Hume. Hardly as well known, but some of his work is still so profound.
Kant was heavily influenced by Hume's work and really, I feel that Hume probably deserve the title of being the first to really explore the process of thinking itself, influenced by George Berkeley.

I wonder how many have actually read the treatise of human nature. It's incredibly long and slow, even hard to read. The tone is somewhat conceited and with the impious undertone, I imagine people have always been quick to reject it, especially back then.
But of all the philosophers I've read, I don't think anything quite reaches the level of Hume's work, though I'd admit, Kant would be right up there.
