So i know someone that has no criminal background and is being charged with a dv misdemeanor. No weapons or anything involve just loud yelling and pushing and grabbing. Can they face jailtime? Is it a great chance charges can get dropped?

Me and my husband pulled money out of our savings and paid for my bail two hours later. The situation me and my husband put ourselves in was over blown due to my mental state. I’m being charged with a felonie for DV. I was in jail for 4 hours. He didn’t press chargers it was in the hands of the law enforcement officer. He decided to take me in. First time ever getting into trouble. My husband sent a letter to ask for the charges to be dropped but when we went to the ca District attorney office in Merced ca and the assistant said the DA was continuing to press chargers. My husband wrote a statement to try to explain our situation. And now we wait for my court date. What should I expect and will it help that we paid the 5k bail in full :/

i have no record at all for anything, i was charged with a misdemeanor two days ago and was in bookings for a couple of hours for sending a threat text to my ex. i then spoke to my attoruney and then the judge themselves, my ex doesnt want to continue the charges and actually wants all this dropped, the city itself gave me an order of protection from seeing her for a year, now im due back in a virtual court two months form now. what are my chances of doing any further jailtime? the detective said there shouldnt be any more jailtime but i just want other peoples opinions
