I tell myself "Oh I'm scared" and then tell myself "Ok then let's be scared!"
This has helped. I sit and become scared and then when the emotion has taken all over my body and mind, I reevaluate the situation to see what happened to me and why I got so scared.
Each time I find out the reason, the next anxiety wave gets a little bit easier to handle, and some of my triggers have completely faded. I am now again living a lovely life and enjoying it.

My biggest obstacle in my treatment is giving my anxiety so much meaning.

once had a anxiety “wave” in class because of my derealization which happened because of my anxiety but I completely let it control me and i got panicked. But that was in my first weeks of therapy, now I hope that it happens tomorrow or the day after in school so i can prove myself and teach my anxiety that public places or rooms where i had bad anxiety attacks don’t scare me and have nothing to do with my present.
I know that I can control myself and if i can do that I will just “Vibe” with these thoughts and feelings until they know that they can go whenever they want to.
Thank you so much I appreciate all of your videos because you are helping me so much. Please keep going and never stop, you’re amazing!!

Thank you Nate. Another great video! You re awesome! Yes, recently I learned to accept that the wave of anxiety will pass with time. I do not panic anymore when my OCD doubts/fears kicks in as I know that (1) it is probably irrational and (2) it will pass with time. I hope the others will find this useful.

Even though my anxiety is quite mild - especially when compared with other cases expressed here in the comments - and for the most part I can get the hang of it with _some_ ease, I have come to enjoy watching your videos because you are an awesome communicator Nathan... and the visuals and production of your channel are unrivalled in the genre. And since I have always had an interest in psychology, your videos are as informative as they are helpful. I have already expressed some of your ideas and talking points to people I know. Keep up the good work Nathan! And to anyone reading this... good luck in your journey riding the wave. One day you'll be a qualified surfer... you got this! 🏄‍♂

Absolutely, this is a great way to approach it. The more educated we are, the easier it gets, still scary but manageable. Everything is temporary. As always there are no words to say thank you for what you do. OCD was so painful for me, physically and mentally but having people like you, NOCD and so many more, OCD is not as painful as it used to be. Thank

Haha I love when you add bloopers at the end. It is entertaining, but also shows that we as OCD sufferers don’t have to be perfect to share what we have to offer in the world. Or do we? Maybe…Maybe not 😝 Also, I love the new intro! Thanks for the great content! Have you done any videos about telling ADHD from OCD? I got diagnosed with both 🤦🏻‍♀️ It can be confusing sometimes.
