Something a little different today, we've been meaning to do some hobby style content so consider this a pilot/test run of how we'd do stuff.

Future vids would contain more detail but it's all a learning process y'know?

Hey, at least in 2nd edition you could get a cardboard dreadnought! Modern children will never appreciate the excitement that caused in the early 90s :-P

I've got an entire mob of these 2nd Edition Ork boyz (unpainted with white primer that I got 2nd-hand a decade ago... still too nervous to paint the dang things unfortunately.) that I run in my army.

Can confirm people are awed/enjoy playing against them in games.

As someone who's just gotten into this hobby I *really* appreciated you showing off your first ork paintjob. It's nice to see that persistence pays off as long as you're enjoying it! The end result looks great, and I was surprised how well they fit into the rest of the ork army! Great job :)

Very much enjoyed this. The end hit home as well.

I've been an off and on collector for a long while. My first army was some Blood Angels that my father painted for me. Since then I've amassed a few crates worth of models, all of which are in various stages of completion. And yet not a single one painted.

I love the Warhammer universes, I basically grew up on them. I thoroughly enjoy the building, kit bashing and the like; but I get extremely demotivated when it comes to applying paint to plastic.

I really should put something up on my work station that reads, "It's all for fun, quit fussing."

I can normally keep track of the new Citadel names, and for some I actually prefer the newer name (Averland Sunset, for instance). But I'll be damned if I ever call Ironbreaker anything other than good old Boltgun Metal

I love the Mongolian ork aesthetic. Gives me feelings of nostalgia for a time I never knew.

Wow! You made a half decent job of those old boyz! When painted in not so garish colours they are a nice cheap way to bulk up your mobs with some "runty" old models. I think I have a few of those kicking around my bin of 2nd edition Orkz .
Thanks for this video, I appreciate your delving into the history of this game we love .

Beautiful. And the timing as i watch is beautiful too...yesterday I was gifted 48 boyz& 39 grots from the 2nd edition set! I also got 6 deff koptaz too. Now i just have to find 40+ 32mm bases...🤔

Excellent video.

I miss the old minis for kit bashing. "It doesn't fit? Profanity and green stuff to the rescue!"

Then again, I used Tamiya 1/35 models as proxy trukks.

I just bought an old Waddingtons' Dark World off of ebay quite recently so I appreciate the mention of that old gem! 🤣😎😉

Wow, wasn't expecting then to blend that seamlessly with the newer boys, they fit really well and look just like orks that haven't killed as much as the other lads

Can confirm, I've spotted a lot of these boys on the used miniatures site I frequently browse. That they're monopose has thus far put me off buying some, but it would be a pretty affordable way to start an Ork force.

Darkworld! I don't know if it's poor etiquette to comment on old videos, but I'm going through your catalogue after having found you guys, and trying to remember the name of that particular board game I used to own had been burning a hole in the back of my brain for many years now. Thank you for exorcising that little demon! Now to look up more videos about it and soak up the nostalgia

Great words at the end, I was actually discussing that with my girlfriend earlier since we both always feel so disgruntled at our minis!

A nice little mixup to the norm! If this runs well and you end up doing more, perhaps you could see about doing more than just the dark age of GW models and even give customs a go

I've still got at least a dozen of these and Gork knows how many Gretchin left to paint. Might give some minor conversions a go as yours look nice.
