I cut off my legs so I couldn't get bitten by a snake. Best decision yet. I have not gotten bit on the leg ONCE.

Actually you should NEVER try sucking the venom out of the wound because all it does is circulate throughout the victim and if you try orally extracting the venom you risk invenomation yourself.

Two holes. That means that the snake that bit her was a venomous one. But it'll be very important for the doctor to know what species of snake it was, because no two snake species have the exact same chemicals in their venom.

This information is so wrong. Pressure bandage and immobilise. Extraction/sucking and tourniquets don’t work. Identifying the snake will also be difficult for most people, they can easily swab the bite to identify the snake.

one thing more, what type of snake was the person bitten by,

chances of me carrying a blood pressure cuff and or snake bite kit = unlikely
chances me knowing how to use either = less likely
chances of me trusting the description of the snake given by a panicked patient or first responder = *NO*
I'm surprised she didn't advise to "wash the bite area to prevent infection" 🤦‍♂️

Let’s see you use a bite and sting kit on a black mamba, hopefully it works! :)

Perfect idea using a ternekit. Especially if you're bit by a Rattlesnake and your leg swells and the ternekit stops the blood flow to your legs. Perfect plan.

Refer to Australian Bite Kits and how to use them. Snake bites travel through the Lymphatic system. If you have nothing else, and someone you are with gets bitten DO NOT MOVE patient, keep the patient still, If you want to do something splint the extremity. If you want to live - DO NOT MOVE. Get someone else to get help. If you have an Australian Snake Bite Kit they will have a compression bandage, learn how to apply this. but again the less you move the patient the less you will circulate the venom through the body. And that Doctor talking about sucking out the poison, that's so 1890 wild west crap !!! It don't work.

Before any of this is done. Take them to hospital. But yeah calm down the victim. But first instinct should be hospital.

If the location of the bite was about 24" higher I would suck the venom out.
