Is there a good resource online that shows how the pattersn on the Koi change with age? This is something I'm very interested in, and him discussing how the top patterns shrink then the fish widens in one of the only things I've ever heard concrete about this. I am used to raising smaller fish. I've raised plenty of fancy and plain Goldfish, so I'm familiar with how, say - a Comet loses its awesome patterns, and different types of Ryukins may lose all their black as they mature, but I need some solid info about the color changing patterns of Koi! I'd love to have a giant pond filled with them someday, but they're pretty damn expensive to be guessing on! Just my luck, I'd choose all the "cute" babies and they'd be the most boring adults on the planet. Help! :) Thanks.

Question I hope you can answer. I have koi and gold fish in my 1000 gallon pond. I now have 7 or more young fish that are all black except for one that has two gold stripes on its head. They are about 7-8 months old. How can I tell if they are gold fish or koi? Would love to have the selection of fish you have.

Is it normal for a yellow koi to develop black spots? I have this beautiful yellow 7 year old koi but recently she's been gaining black spots that goes around the back of her head. Is that normal?

If a fish tries to scratch it self once in a while at the bottom does that mean it has a parasite attached to it, if so, how do we deal with parasites pls. ???
Cause I have heard that if not dealt with, it could suck the living daylights out of your fish.
Pls. help anyone.
Can ick on a fish be seen by the naked eye, or you have to use a microscope for that.???
