I’m having a Dustin Hoffman film fest in honor of his birthday (August 8th). I’m watching The Graduate right now, and I decided for the hell of it to look up the filming location of Mrs Robinson’s house and I came across this video. Up until I saw this video, I had no idea this house’s backyard was used as the Braddock’s backyard. Very interesting.

(BTW This may be irrelevant, but as I’m typing this, I got to a scene regarding this house oddly enough. It’s the scene where Elaine kicked Benjamin out of her room — and life — after finding out he slept with her mother.)

Have gone to mass at the church where the final scene was filmed and even encouraged by the pastor to go upstairs and bang on the glass.

The church used in the final scene where Dustin Hoffman breaks up Elaine's wedding is in La Verne, CA. Looks the same and is very accessible.

The church is over here in La Vern across from Bonita High School still looks the same.

It looks to me like the backyard was indeed used in the film. During the film, you can see the electric powerlines that are still behind that house. I doubt they would have re-created powerlines in a sound stage.

The house was brick painted white. It was sandblasted back to the original brick.

Excellent vlog Jordan! I think I that the White home was a stucco home and they covered it with the brick! I wonder why they covered it; as well?

The Brick was painted white then later removed by one of the owners.

I saw that show, finding your roots, with Dustin Hoffman. It was very interesting.

nice find & matchup. never watched all the way through, some great lines, and a killer soundtrack. I've enjoyed most of Hoffman work (little big man my personal favorite). some of his recent stuff, not so much.

Where is this house located in LA? Did it survive the wildfires?

I think the brick was actually painted white before. The brick was always there. Someone decided to strip the paint off of it.
