I'm 66, born in the civil rights era, still a song writer, guitar player (pretty good, if I do say so). Raised in Boston, but I've worked in the South, Mississippi and elsewhere. Where these young Icelanders found these lyrics, this soul is beyond me. The musicianship is great all around. The lyric is from a novel, from the gut. The music is perfect. Well done guys. Being a 22 years old north African kid who first discovered Kaleo back in 2019 and got absolutely hooked ever since. I always felt like I was born in the wrong place and era to have devoloped such a deep admiration and love to this genre and Kaleo specifically. an old soul in a young mans body.
