I love this tale. The fact the monster was not there for the kid rather for the man in the closet is both scary but wholesome at the same time.

“Demonic being who only punishes vile humans” is one of my favorite tropes.

It reminds me of a Tumblr story-turned-DA comic about the lead chief of monsters trying to scare a young girl, but she was unfazed by all the monsters that tried. The reason being she had an abusive father; THAT was her monster. She even crawled under the bed with Monster Chief to get away from him, before Chief horrified the abusive father and made sure he didn’t treat her like crap anymore.

This creepypasta really does a good job. It starts off as a light banter, like you’d expect from something like a RL Stine novel or funny campfire story. Then it drops you into the true horror elements of the story.

I love how expressive Frank is despite having only one jaw. Also, I much prefer this narrator over the other one due to his monotone delivery. Really have that late night true ghost story/documentary vibe to it.

this is actually an amazing story to tell a kid if they're afraid of a monster under their bed
not only does it portray the monster as something silly, it also gives him the role of someone who can make the child feel safe
