Cervélo has a new Áspero gravel race bike with wider tyre clearance, a fancy new integrated front end, and a lower price. Yes, a lower price.

All of these changes result in increased stiffness, so is the bike any good? Warren Rossiter has been riding it to find out.

Are you happy to see a brand reducing the price of its bike? What do you think of the new Cervélo Áspero? Let us know in the comments.

Does the new Cervélo Áspero hit the mark as a gravel bike? Let us know in the comments!

I get that bike companies want to showcase their best models, but that's most likely to be the one they will sell the least of. It would be better to review the lower to mid tier models, which are often the best value, are relevant to moat people and will attract more customers. I'd love a Cervelo, but I'm not cycling a £5, 000 rigid bike through the forrest!

Tire clearance was the biggest reason why I avoided the original Aspero. Glad they increased it

The bike and country are both beautiful. Great vid and review. I saved it in case I have some serious cash.

No mention of which group set this bike is running ? Looks like Rival AXS from that muddy rear mech but at that price I’d really expect Force. That said the wheel set is excellent.

The updated Reverse 40/44 wheelset is great at this price point. Looks like a fun bike to ride.

Nice, I've been looking at the Crux but I think this is a winner.

Nice review, but you mention at 6:15 it has an "inline carbon post" where clearly it's a setback model (with a saddle slammed all the way forward), so have you changed the seatpost ? or would just prefer if it came with an inline post ?

My 2015 GT Grade is 8.6Kg with Time ATAC pedals, aluminium wheels, and a double chainring, less than 1/2 the price. Are things really improving???

Would you recommend the GT carbon if someone is looking to use it as a race bike?

What about sizing? Same as the 1st gen Aspero? How does it fit?
Great review! Thanks!

which frame size would you recommend? I am 183cm with a leg length of 86cm.
How tall are you and what frame size do you ride at your bike?

To me this opens the Aspero to more riders in price and geometry. The Old Aspero was just a road bike w bigger wheels. Fast but not necessarily versatile for REAL gravel. Eventually 46 will fall short.

What’s the biggest chainring you can get on this bike?

The range topping model is Force currently, because new Red Xplr is going to be announced later this year, and then that model will be introduced. It may also make clever use of that UDH hangar. 😉

These comments… Nah, I’ll stick with my 1800’s push bike with wooden wheels.

Wouldn't fancy drop bars over bumps and roots. Mtb for off road. Not a bad review, I'll stick with the 1980s steel racer though.

Shame about the front-end integration.
