Remember when they used to say if you increase minimum wage a big mac will be worth $20? LOL Fast food prices have been increasing but employee salaries havent.

Fast food used to be a cheaper alternative to sit down restaurants and was quicker then cooking at home.

Now it's almost as expensive as eating at a sit down restaurant, and the quality has declined... so might as well eat at a restaurant.... or buy the items to make at home.

General reminder that fast food makes you sick and hungry and is especially engineered to be addictive. It also costs more than preparing your own food, so if people have the choice they're better off not being a regular customer.

I worked at Wendy's for a year in high school. After 1 full year, I got my performance review and with glowing enthusiasm they told me how thrilled they were that I had mastered ever single role for my class. With that news they offered me a 10c/hour raise... I quit on the spot. Ended up getting a job at a grocery store for 30% better pay and half the bs. Thank you Wendy's for making me find a better job. I've never eaten there since and that was 20 years ago.

These fast food prices are out of control. I can eat a full meal at many sit down restaurants for the price of a meal at a Wendy’s or McDonald’s. They seem to be forgetting they ain’t the only game in town.

I'm annoyed they backed out and foiled my plans to get rich selling Baconator futures

Corporations like making money for themselves. Anything to give themselves more and you less.

Just before the announcement of this so called "dynamic pricing", I went to Wends for a Baconator combo with a second Baconator. This cost me in Canada 26.53$ including taxes. I am not going to boycott this place because of dynamic pricing, I am going to boycott this place because I can no longer actually afford to eat out!

You give me dynamic pricing? I'll give you dynamic boycotting.

I just feel bad for the employees that will be dealing with an increase of angry Karens at the drivethru

Eh, haven't been a fan of fast food ever since childhood. Only ate nuggets and fries way back; now, in adulthood, when I feel like eating those and have free time, I make them myself.

My local Wendy’s is a money laundering front. No one speaks English, they are bad on purpose so no one goes. If no one goes, they only need to hire one guy to stand there.

Here's the funny thing. Let's say that at 2pm on a given day is their highest peak hours for surge pricing. So to beat the pricing, people either show up and hour early or an hour late. Except those who come an hour early bog down the restaurant and those an hour late have lines to wait in. So now the surge is 1pm to 3pm.

So people come at noon and 5pm instead, which also becomes "new surge times"

Eventually this "surge creep" rolls over to all hours of the day, with the exception of really late hours - either when the store isn't physically open anymore, or it is but it's a city or college town and it's all the drunks wanting a burger and fries.

In other words, their "surge" translates to "operating business hours"

The fast food industry is charging ridiculous high prices like mom and pop restaurants.

Dave Thomas would never have allowed this. I haven’t eaten at Wendy’s since they announced this and I never will again.

I just erased all restaurant apps and all other apps that I don't use every single day. Every single one of those apps has tracking devices and metrics collection - they basically climb up your asshole and inspect your colon. Delete them all.

I think Wendy's has forgotten who their customer base is exactly
