UBER app works in Istanbul, it didn't before but it does now, it doesn't hook you up with an UBER (at least not when I did) but will a "Yellow Taxi" it will give you a range of price, and the driver, plate number and route is all recorded on the UBER app

I had a plan all set to go to Istanbul. I planned out the hotel and the flight and I clicked the button to pay for everything.
Then the confirm button was there. I canceled the whole trip.

The thing that really bothered me and was was very compelling was, every video in You Tube said, every taxi cab driver there will take you for everything you got.

After get into the taxi, driver immediately stop the UBER apps, then use taxi meter. And extra charges for everything. Like tunnel pass etc. Total scam, uber is useless in istambul.

Watch out for pickpockets on the trains and ferries. Place your hand over your bag!
