For many people exploring MBA programs, there are many options and many ways to compare them all. While formal MBA rankings are important, there are many other factors that one should consider when deciding on an MBA program.

Not only that, everyone has different career goals, financial obligations, and time commitments to work around! So there's no "one size fits all program", and you have to find a program that works best for what you prioritize.

In this video, I walk you through a points based framework I used to help decide my MBA program that will give you a more objective and practical way to compare MBA programs based on your personal preferences.

Just have to say how thankful I am for your videos! A lot of noise out there with online MBA’s and you help cut through all of it.

I disagree with the specialization portion of your MBA scorecard. People can specialize on their own through certifications, licenses, and work experience. The courses taken at school doesn't play much of a factor in the hiring once you're in middle to late career. Employers will look at relevant experiences and credentials. However, specialization are factor in when you are wanting to pivot to a different industry, but the chance increases with some experience (e.g. internships)

Great tiered system to vet one's need across the spectrum of obtaining and MBA. Thing is these days is, are things based on the purity of the higher education or the network for validity on a specific school a person chooses? On one hand a person can be an ideal candidate but if their school ranking is an issue that can make them neglected on an unbiased hiring pool.

question: How do you value Louisiana Tech University for Online MBA?

Sounds like a “Management Consulting” approach to evaluating MBAs, great job!
I’d be curious to hear your thoughts about Warwick Business School Online MBA, which is ranked #1 from FT among the online MBAs, has a reasonable tuition (still higher than the iMBA at the Gies College of Business), and provides two compulsory weeks in presence either in Warwick or in London (there are a few elective courses you can take in presence as well). All from a top 30 Business School worldwide. Not sure about your take on it but it sounds like a great mix of flexibility, physical presence and value for brand.

Nice, I did 1 one of these myself prior to the video releasing, and the factor I assigned the most value to was the average salary after completing the program. I was able to find these for many schools looking for "MBA outcomes", whether the outcomes posted by the university are 100% true is debatable. But still it gave me a fairly good idea

Any knowledge of Ohio Universities online MBA? I’m torn between that one, and Wright State University (Ohio) online MBA. I already have a full-time career with the State of Ohio, hoping to use the MBA to advance to upper level management and administration.

Do you have any opinions on University of North Alabama ? I was thinking of going to there because they seem flexible and have many specializations. It is either that or a Cal State online program, but the ones I saw don't have the specialization and are twice as much $$$$

I chose the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Partly because I believe it does meet my career goals (I've spent my entire adult life in the Greater China region) but also because I was already living right next door. How many people have the opportunity to walk to class at their top 50 school?
