Does it change with personal intent? “I will” do something vs. “I am about to do” something.
It feels like one is a promise and the other a much softer scenario. Saying I am “about to” seems like a promise, accompanied with the thought that the action planned could change. Saying, I “will do” something seems to be a stronger declaration of an inevitable event.
