We have 4 of them in our office and they've lasted since 2000! - I looked at it and thought it needed some special tool the way it was plugged in, but nope... Simple giggle and pull popped the bulb out. Thanks Ottlite!

To remove bulb without the possibility of breaking it, use a piece of strong soft ribbon, loop it through the bulb opening and pull upward gently until bulb releases.

As a company rep, you owed it to us to show the entire, grueling process, but you failed us. First of all, you should have described how you determine if the bulb is burned out, vs the ballast needing replacement. And then you should explain how to find out which, of the many similar q3 watt bulbs we need for our particular lamp, the numbering system and which bulbs can replace others. This video showed the simplest info on how to replace a bulb that people already know how to do, so you treat customers as if they don't know how to do simple things. Please help with what we need, the details, type A E bulbs, 13w, type GL or F or G or K, balladt types, unplug cord first etc.

If the bulb has been in it for a long time it may be necessary to use a pair of pliers gripping the metal part of the bulb and wiggling and pulling it to be removed. I would suggest u put on a pair of safety glasses just in case the bulb shatters. It came out in one piece.

I have an Ott Light from 2005, the on and off switch is in the general assembly, it's in the opening and closing of the unit. The bulb is a 13W Type PL.
This bulb is stuck, are there any hacks to remove it without it shattering in two or worse? Thank you in advance.

Impossible to remove. Wiggled and pulled and broke into a sweat, but the bulb isn’t coming out! Have to take to a lighting shop to get someone to remove it.
