Overall, I LOVE the suitcases and the versatility they give me when flying both domestic and international. We'll go into the exterior and interior differences between the expandable and carry-on suitcases as well as my personal thoughts.

These suitcases are the two main suitcases I use and I'll be going over whether or not they are a good buy.

Thank you for watching! This is a different video than most of my other ones but if you want to see more videos relating to entrepreneurship and personal finance, please subscribe! Those locking latches were extensively worked on to get that exact sound and feel when activating.

thanks for this review! It's so cool to find out that they have an expandable version. I have Tumi products for my backpack and duffel bags but for luggages, I have all Rimowa just because I love how their wheels feel. Cool video bro! 😀

Thanks for the super detailed review. I have a Tumi Alfa bravo continental suitcase, but want something lighter. I love this suitcase, and was hoping it would lighter, but your review lets me know that’s not the case. Might have to inquire about the plastic version. Thank you again for all the great information.

This is nice! I've been searching for the comparison of these two luggages as I was really undecided which one I'm gonna get. Continental for me is better since in my experience, Airlines do not usually look or check on my carry-on luggage so think it's all good. Thank you for this vid. Really helps!

The worst part of Tumi luggage is that at this high price it does not offer life time warrenty as a lot of other luxury brands do.

Nice review. 3. comments from my side why I have decided against the Tumi Carry On. 1. The Rimowa Suitcases are keeping their value. This might not be important to everybody these days, but it is to me as I like the idea of being able to buy something that does not appreciate, even it is very unlikely that I am going to sell it. 2. I am not sure where Tumi is producing their Aluminium suitcases, but the largest part of their products are produced in China these days. While I don’t mind buying products produced in China and also don’t think that the quality is worse then items produced anywhere else, it is important to me to have luxury items being produced in one of the Western Countries due to the big difference in Labor cost. This one the one hand gives me the feeling that I am paying the workers in these countries and not only the shareholders, but at the same time also ensuring that the jobs are kept their. 3. In addition it is important to me to reduce wherever possible to reduce limit the respective logistics costs to reduce transportation related emissions. If the later 2 things were not important to me, I might have also bought again a Tumi, which was for more then 25 years my number one choice for luggage.

Yo! Thanks for this video. Just got a Continental in Black for the extra space, but it's still not as much space as my old Alpha Kirtland

rimowa lifetime warraty vs tumi 5 year is tempting

I assume there's a locking mechanism... can it be reset? I'm thinking of buying one of these on eBay.

My old Tumi Alpha 24-in checked luggage has similar expandable locking mechanism, but that does not hold up at full-load, meaning it is snapped out of the locking position when the luggage is full. Have you tested to see this is would hold up when being filled with 35 pounds of stuffs inside?

Do you still have these? What do they look like now? Updated vid please.

So you would recommend the regular international one? What about the other tumi with compartments in front?

Tumi hasn’t been making luggage for over 100 years. Not even half that! They were founded in 1975.

How's the expandable working for you? Have you had any problems with it or has it worked awesome for you?
Thanks

Nice looking suitcases but you mention they ding easily, weigh 13 pounds and cost over $1000. Not worth the money.

Some aluminium carry on bags look nice out of the box but can be susceptible to permanent dents and scratches that will never be fixed. A selling point of aluminium bags is the lack of a zipper which manufacturers and sellers claim makes them less vulnerable to
being broken into by thieves. Last time I check, those bags come with a TSA lock which is easy to access by using a cheap key available everywhere.

Another reason that an aluminium carry on bag which can weigh up to 4 kg or more does not make it suitable when using a1rlines that limit a carry on weight to 7-8 kg. That would leave little room for belongings.
Considering how roughly are bags treated by handlers and conveyor belts, checking an aluminium bag makes even less sense .

Has anyone else had the issue with the expandable not being completely sealed when closed and not expanded? You can see the fabric for the expandable portion through the seam when the bag is closed and not expanded. The bag was barely full. I thought it was a defect but apparently it’s normal… looks terrible in my opinion.

Good choice. My timing 19Degree has been all over with me. I’ve used it for flights as well as vehicle travel. I choose it over the rimowa because the seemed that the fit and finish was better and I’ve seen it less often during my travels.
