I'm actually excited for this vehicle! I daily drive a 2004 Honda CR-V, with a manual transmission, that we bought brand new. I am ready to buy a new vehicle in the next couple of years and this might be perfect! Thanks for breaking the story, and as usual Nathan is great at getting to the nuts and bolts of the story! We purchased the Rav 4 2019 hybrid

My wife is pushing 44 mpg around town during her 15 mile commute to work with lots of stop and go.

From my research, eCVT in the Toyota is a superior transmission vs the belt and pulley CVT found in Honda.

I have a 2013 CRV and my first car was a 1999 CRV. Very happy with improvements made! Especially the hybrid options for each model. Hopefully it is affordable.

I have a 2019 1.5L turbo with CVT, which I like very much. However, I would seriously consider trading "up" to the Hybrid if the mpg turns out to be as good as the journalists are estimating.

You will love it when you get to drive it. I tested it here in the UK and would have bought one in a heartbeat but the RAV4 hybrid has tax advantages here (lower CO2) so I got that instead. CR-V hybrid is the better car otherwise.

I am waiting for the Ridgeline hybrid. With 110v power outlet from the big battery (not the 12v), it would be so much useful for contractors and camping.

I was looking to buy a rav4 hybrid but waited due to the gas tank issues. I trust the Rav4 trans because the Prii has had a rock solid history with the cvt. Some Toyota's have had oil burning issues but can be cured with 5k oci and occ. Honda's have't had too much luck with the cvt trans but generally have better engines. I know about the 1.5l T oil dilution issue with the CRV's. It seems like a toss up here folks. Gas prices and taxes are going up!
