Hidden Gems: Mountain Bike SF Peninsula Travel Guide

What do the locals know about the San Francisco Peninsula? There is only so much information you can get from watching POV clips or looking at Trailforks, so we landed at SF airport and made the perfect itinerary for two full days of riding in the area. You'd be surprised what you can find to ride in the heart of Silicon Valley - and not only that, but some legendary spots to grab pre-ride coffee and post-ride burritos.

If you've ever passed through San Francisco or been to the Sea Otter Classic, these trails have been within striking distance the entire time. Check out this list to see all the spots we visited during our 48 hour stay on the SF Peninsula:

Day One: Pacifica

Day Two: Half Moon Bay, Waterdog Lake, Skeggs

Let me know where we should go next!

World class video production. Showing the best placese to get some grub ties it together. You covered the trails I would mention at the coffee shop. Keep it up. Love what your doing!

Clearing "The Wall" at Skeggs on your first attempt was truly impressive (especially your display of trials skills). It took me well over double digits of attempts before I could clear the upper section of that climb!

When you return, consider checking out the other trails at Skeggs. Though I live closer to the first set of trails between Pacifica/Linda Mar and Montara, I still prefer the "flow" of Skeggs.

Thanks for capturing and sharing your experience an also for keeping the peninsula trails we consider to be "hidden gems" hidden :)

Taco Bell kept me alive while filming for my Street Trials video project! 😂🙌

You need legs for Waterdog and Skeggs! Lol.
Even though you spoke highly of the two, most don’t come back because of the climbs!
But us locals absolutely love it!

My backyard! You hit almost all of my favorite places. I didn't realize you used to live around here. I wonder how you feel like the MTB scene has changed in that time.

Oh man, I love this format! Please keep doing more MTB destination videos like this. It’s directly fueling my MTB vacation daydreams (or me adding MTBing to any of our existing family spots :).

Top asks for destinations: Lake Tahoe CA, Portland OR, Arnold CA, Anything Vermont, Montreal-ish Quebec, Puerto Vallarta Mexico.

Also, if you’re ever in the Bay Area again and wanna ride your sponsor’s namesake, lemme know and I’ll take you on some of the best rides (and food stops) in Marin County!

Well done on that climb! These trails are local to us and we are so lucky to have them. When you're here next, check out Briones in East Bay, or Demo Soquel Flow/Braille/Sawpit further south.

Super stoked to see your video. I grew up in HMB but never hit those trails. Have to go back and visit some old friends and hit all those spots.

That area elevated my riding in a lot of ways. Mile ate my lunch last time I rode it though😂 it’s getting gnarly at the bottom of the rock garden

I love this format of video! I've wanted to start a channel myself that show cases not only the trail but the food spots in the area as well.
Great Concept and video!
