Meguiar's Oxidation Remover working wonders on GelCoat restoration

Real quick video showing how well the Meguiars Oxidation remover worked on my chalky boat gelcoat with little effort.

For me putting it on the pad worked kind of crappy, there still was random oxidation after many pass overs. I broke the bottle squeezing it out on the pad, so I ended up cutting the bottle in half. I then applied it with a microfiber cloth, very generously on my RV, then buffed it. Wow what a difference the effort went to near nothing and one or two passes, wiped it with a dry microfiber cloth and it was perfect. So if you are having difficulties getting good results I suggest you apply a lot of product then buff it out while wet right after you apply it with the microfiber cloth. It was like night and day for me doing it that way.

I am a regulat guy like you and try this Meguires products and was not impress, brings out a ok shine but stains and scratches are still there .. will try 3M next time ..

Hopefully you used a good polymer sealant or ceranic coating to seal it up or it will be back in a couple
Weeks. When compounding your done when you can look straight at it abs read a piece of paper, your watch, etc. Meguiars great abs I’m a dealer

How hard it is to wipe off? I have various compounds and polishes, but on my RV I have some gelcoat and corrugated siding.

Was there faded letters/numbers on the clean side in the video? I’m curious to know how this does to remove ghosting from old lettering.

Does it work great on a vehicle heavy oxidized. I tried Lukat Fix It It would of probably did better if my paint job was better but I still had some orange peel left from when painted my truck last year every time actually tried to paint got it but gonna start putting lighter coats on base coat when do it again this year but am gonna use a high solids clear which never used before. Last year was starting to use a primer sealer and could tell was getting somewhat better. Just gonna paint it back to the original color midnight metallic urethane blue. But have a car now gonna paint it midnight purple metallic urethane. Have a new spray gun now will be trying and more products now and a electric sander Bauer too because the air compressor goes out fast it is 26 gallon so bought the sander so it could continously go without it having to stop when running out of air on the air compressor. I have a lot of products now over the last almost two years just waiting to paint again and polish too but have to do other stuff before paint put a exhaust system in garage plus will be having a garage sale have lots in garage my parents garage I mean. Should of had exhaust system put in the same year I started painting two years ago though.

Nice work! People may want to know that the pad is just as important as the compound! You have a good aggressive pad, another is microfiber pads. A foam pad gives great results but takes forever as they tend to be less aggressive, gelcoat needs aggression!!!

My Boat just sparkles now. Put on 2 coats of Nu Finish after using Mcguires 49.

Saw your post on FB and bought some of this. Looking forward to trying it out this weekend. We brought home a 2005 Ebbtide Sport Cuddy on Monday in a very similar yellow to your boat. Going to be removing some graphics, and I anticipate some ghosting to be left behind. Hope we get the same results. Yours looks great!

I have a 2010 Chaparral and it has heavy oxidation on one side of the dark blue gelcoat. I'll try this. If I can get just some of the color back, it will be a win
