Most commenters are just simply too young to remember the old rules. I love Jose, but he just makes it sound as if it was a new idea by Wenger. In fact a couple of decades ago the offside rule was different. There had to be space between the defender and the attacker dor it to be offside. Basically, if the attacker was over the line by his upper body, for example, but the legs were on line with the defender, it wasn't offside. Precisely what Wenger would like to reintroduce. Which, to be fair, is great!
