I have a 2000 Mercedes E-320 that I love. Had those issues of not starting once and a while and replaced fuel pump, fuel filter… still problematic. I saw your video and replaced the Crankshart position sensor. Bingo!
Thank you so much for posting such a helpful video. Please let me know how I can help support your channel, buy you dinner, something for your expert advice! Thank you so much!

Thanks so much, as a widow & no males around, my daughter is going to try to help me to replace it. Wish us luck, your instructions seem easy to follow.

My Mercedes E320 would crank over but wouldn't start. We replaced the fuel pump still wouldn't crank. Me and my Grandson watched this video we replaced the crank shaft sensor and it started up. It wasn't showing up no codes that is why we changed the fuel pump 54.00 sensor and a fuel filter and it STARTED up and the car is still running fine. Thank you for your help Roy Braswell Eastman Georgia

Thank you very much for your info. I wish would have seen it earlier. The fact that no light on the dash or no code on the scanner makes it horrible to diagnose the problem. I have been dealing with this problem on my daughters 2000 MB E320 for weeks. Changed fuel pump, filter and relay. worked fine for 2 days and 3rd stopped in the middle of the road.

Great video. I didn’t have an inverted Torx at home, a 1/4” 6 point did the job!

Great Video - Can't get the E8 to stay on the screw - Looks like someone tried taking it out and Stripped The Screw !

Thanks, I hava W210 too and engine won't start with crank sound and check engine light.
I start diagnosis by checking fuel cap then replacing all spark plugs. The engine looks normal and engine light gone. Today, I start running the vehicle and run for sometime, stop for a few minutes, then restart the engine. It comes again, crank .... can start the engine, but check engine light. I check the battery by Foxwell tester which ask me for replacing battery, CCA 290/900 only. I do this next week, if fail again, I ponder replacing this crank sensor.

Thank you Mike for the video. Does my 1998 E320 have the same crankshaft position sensor? In the same drivers side?

my car had a rough idle and turn off by itself
i changed the fule pump it was raelly dirty
i cleaned the injectors
after that i run it, and a poping sound came out of the intake manifold
and it never started after that
it cranks but doesn't start
No RPM while cranking
the sparks work fine
the fuel reaches the injector
could it be a bad crank position sensor?
or an intake manifold problem?

Hi there, great video! Thanks. I have the same confusing symptoms with a 2002 w210. Intermittent and mostly start when the car cools down. But it would never die or sputter when driving. It wouldn't start and keeps cranking and I leave it for a few minutes and it starts, it starts right up when it is cold. Would the scanner tell me of it is a crank shift senser or if it is a full pump? Thanks

Do you need to disconnect the battery to replace this? Sorry if you mentioned it in the video. I didn't hear you say anything about it.
