When the market goes down then it's buying opportunity. If the market goes up then you are making money. If you stay invested and ignore the market's ups and downs, you'll make a lot of money in the long run; however, a severe market correction causes a lot of margin calls and sell-offs, driving the market even lower. currently, I'm up 13% in my diversified portfolio. Here's my questions. How do you choose which monthly contract to trade(since crude has a contract for each month). Do you just trade the contract for the most recent month and then switch to next month right before expiration? Or do people for example pick a monthly contract that is 3 months out and trade that same month for 3 months until it's expiration and then pick another month that will expire in 3 months? That's where I am confused. I hope someone will understand my question
