Great proof of concept guys! I can see some ways to improve it if you ever come back to it though.

The nozzle flaps seemed to sometimes get caught in the blast which likely ate energy from the jump, not sure how much but it can't have helped, so a different solution would be needed.

The mounting point of the device also probably needs lowered too humans are already top heavy so lowering the device's mount would help with lowering the center of mass and make it less prone to flips. This would also move the nozzles further from the pilot since the angle they are on would have them be farther from the pilot's legs when mounted lower.

Other than looking into lighter materials for the whole thing I'm not sure what else to suggest right now. Either way it was a great project and a great start to something that could be taken quite far I think.
