Regarding the *overheating issues:* My testing was done at 22°C with display module attached shooting 4K 25p H264. It didn't shut down after 80 minutes, it was just mildly warm, so there was no point in testing it longer. There *IS* high temperature threshold setting on my Action 2 purchased in EU, but I didn't have to use it at all.
I avoid watching other reviews before I make mine, so I wasn't aware that overheating is considered to be a major issue with Action 2. There may have been some issues with pre-release units / FW used in early reviews. My unit was normally purchased after the official release with FW 1.01.05.10. It is *not a pre-release unit.*
I have tested it side by side with Hero 10 and it was much cooler, the difference was huge in Action 2's favor.

A near perfect little camera. The only problem for action use, or even vacations in beach, is the not replaceable front glass. It need to be used with extra care and some kind of protection, like an uv filter attached. Great review! Thanks!

At only 100 dollars more than the insta Go 2 (for the rear screen only version) it offers a rear LCD, rear LED to see if the camera is recording, much longer battery life, faster transfer from the internal memory to external storage (SD card). Cons I wonder if it is too wide, DJI could have offered 64GB of internal memory at tis price (for those who use the camera module only in water activities). I think many are criticizing this camera too much. I wonder if shooting at 2.7K 60fps increases the battery life and recording capacity of the internal module compared to 4K 60fps ( i always shoot at 60fps in the water)

Nice review. I think that people are missing the point of this camera. Namely extremely high photo/video quality in an absolutely small package. There is probably a subset of people that would like the single package with a charging/data transfer port and are willing to accept the limited charge time and storage. DJI might just come out with that as a future product at a reduced price. I think they would be surprised at the popularity of such a product. In the meantime, I hope this product is successful enough for DJI to continue this product line.

A very interesting innovation from DJI! I think it's a very bold move to stray away from the traditional design of action cams and go with something unique! So now we have something more convenient to use and more versatile at that!

Thanks - this would be great fitted to the hotshoe of my DSLR. It could give me the odd stabalised clip. I think the DSLR would be a added grip - looks a great little device.

I was just about thinking to get an action camera but was a little disappointed with GoPro's quality for today's standards (and for the price). This is perfect! Love it, image is super sharp, looks next level compared to GoPro. Clean small design, same price as GoPro 9/10. I'm buying this one as soon as it's available, awesome!
