In 2011, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame hosted a week-long Music Masters salute to Aretha Franklin. The week culminated in an all-star concert tribute to the Queen of Soul. The 1987 Hall of Fame Inductee wasn't scheduled to perform that night, but then the most amazing thing happened: she surprised everyone with a stirring version of "A Song for You" alongside fellow Inductees Dennis Edwards and Ronald Isley.

These two people sung about the love they had fir each other. They apologized to each other for what ever. It was absolutely beautiful. They passed 6.5 mths apart. Rip. Two Legends.

When Alretha Franklin was formed. God broke the mold. None before the Queen of Soul music, certainly, none after.

Y'all crazy Aretha and Dennis making magic. She used to date him in the 70s briefly and wrote the song daydreaming about him. Ron is the icing on the cake. This is pure soul music at its best

Not Only Did This Give Me Tingly Head Feelings Immediately, But I was Delighted to see the Genuine Delightful reaction and smile of Ronal Isley as he was obviously throughly enjoying to musical back and forth between Aretha and Dennis….A Superstar enjoying and respecting the gifts of others musicians is R-E-S-P-E-C-T Personified as far as Respect among Musicians. Anyway, Thank You to Aretha Franklin (RIP), Dennis Edwards (RIP), Ronald Isley and everybody else for once again sharing with me and the rest of the world How It’s Done and No Matter Where You Are Now….Y’all Better

Somewhere the great Leon Russell, who wrote and recorded this beautiful song, is telling Dennis to sit down and just enjoy the Aretha's poetry in singing.

Dennis's gravely voice is the perfect accompaniment for Aretha's smooth, sharp voice.

She and Dennis were involved when young. She is honest in her heart and music. He inspired some of her earlier songs such as Daydreaming. She loved him.
