Hi Associated Credit Union- Ronald K. Ford Memorial Scholarship committee, I am Harrison Gabriel Scott, a senior at DeKalb School of the Arts.

Art has been my passion since I was a small child. It only stands to reason that this passion would be central to my future educational aspirations.

My most important undergraduate goal is to double major in Visual Arts with a concentration in animation and graphic design and Education. I want to pursue animation and graphic arts independently while also teaching art to students. I am personally aware of the benefits that art education can have on children. It helps with mastering other subjects and builds confidence. Most important, as I have learned personally and while teaching art to young children through my “Artsy Early” Art Program which I founded, it is very therapeutic.

Being awarded this scholarship will help me financially to achieve my academic goals allowing me to pour positivity into children as people have poured into me. Thank you for considering me!
