Comparing two Breitling watches, which is the fake? We find out, then we SMASH it!

In this episode of #TalkingTimepieces we take a close-up look and compare two #watches. Both claim to be a #Breitling #Navitimer #GMT, but only one is real. Although the fake #watch looks pretty good at a glance, the facade falls apart pretty quickly when you compare the two up close.

I mean it looks nice, it tells the time and it’s affordable…just because it’s not to the same build standard as the real deal, doesn’t make it garbage…you could argue that a breitling does not keep time as accurately as an atomic clock and it’s sole purpose is to tell the time so by that logic you could say the breitling is also garbage 🤷‍♂️ I’m not a watch guy, I do play guitar and have some very expensive models as well as affordable models. I have played expensive guitars that sound awful and cheap guitars that sound amazing. Base a product on what it is meant to do…not on how other products are made 👍

Spotted the fake right away...the dodgy silver sub dials, and the ticking of the second hand are a dead giveaway!

I've just got home from looking at a second hand Breitling Avenger GMT 45 I was thinking of buying, full box set with owners manual and guarantee card, but with the seller I took it to a gold merchant shop next to his shop and weighed it on their digital scales, it was 20g heavier than the specifications given on the Breitling website for the exact same watch with the same reference number and same strap. The caseback was also on crooked instead of straight while the seller said it had never been opened or serviced etc. Clones or fakes are usually lighter than genuines so I'm not sure why this watch is 20g heavier than it should be, but it all raised major red flags with me, I didnt buy it obviously.

Hey I have the same watch (fake but good one). There's no point to throw it away when it's great and does job as a original one. No one will unscew my watch and judge me for a fake watch in my 20s. And I'm not pointing that it's original.
