Hello everyone!

I am back again with another tutorial.

Haven’t we all looked at beautifully animated fabric flags with envy as we see them dance against the wind?

This tutorial will focus on animation. I will show you how to make a flag simulation using cloth physics, a wind generator, and a rigid body for the flagpole. This tutorial will go through how to set up the flag, how to add a texture and how to simulate realistic flag movement.

FREE with this course is the .blend file so that you can easily try this out yourself.

Muy buen material de estudio! la física de las telas es un punto importante para aprender. Felicidades y gracias por este tutorial tan valioso

U should make a loop cut before subdividing the flag so the geometry is squared

You get nicer wind and sometimes less issues if you have a small angle on the wind vs the flag. Also which adds realism is adding an Harmonic force field, then add a keyframe and add a modifier on say X and Y so it moves around automatically. The Harmonic force will pull on the flag but also be influenced by the wind

Nice one :-)
Wouldn‘t it be more realistic if the rope has a cloth simulation as well? Imho there‘s no static rope in the real world. And what about turning on the self collision for the flag?
