Please excuse the typo in the vid! I meant "Barely any smell" .. not "Barley" 😂. Unboxing and first light of a brand new Aladdin Series 39 "Blue Flame" Paraffin heater imported from Japan! I'm really very impressed with this heater, I have a collection of Aladdin heaters and it's every bit as good (if not better) as the old ones and much more aesthetically pleasing and sleek in my opinion. I may do maintenance & servicing videos for this heater and all my paraffin heater and lamp collection in the future. If there's anything you want to know or anything you'd like me to include in a future video, please leave a comment! Thanks!

My dad had one in the 60s and 70s to keep the frost off his tomato plants in his greenhouse. Lovely memories ❤

I was brought up in the 50’s and 60’s as my mum and dad had one, ( Aladdin, tall, slim and black). loved the smell and lovely and warm, only other heat was the coal fire, no carbon monoxide sensors, no problems and screw the environment, thanks for sharing, 👍😊

I worked for Aladdin at Greenford in the late 1960's. I was working in their new electronics division but the heaters were made in the next building. TBH the new version looks better made and safer than the originals.

I had a kerosene heater 20 years ago and used it as an insert in our fireplace so the exhaust would not enter the room when lit.

I like that system; the problem is that nowadays, you can't find kerosene in gas stations. It will be cheaper with the gas bills. Run that ALADDIN heater for 15 or 16 hours It will save a lot of money on my home gas bill. I like the idea of having one of those things in my home. Thanks for the video, have a nice holiday. Take care

Aladdin was a British trademark name for Paraffin/Kerosene heaters and lamps in the '50's and 60's, before gas central heating became popular. as long as you trimmed the wick, with the tool provided, they burnt with a nice blue flame and no smell when adjusted properly. Was that wick asbestos or cotton? Ventilation wasn't a problem with all the drafts we had in our 1930's house, so no problem with water vapour or Carbon Monoxide. As a teenager, I worked behind the Aladdin Factory, which had a tall square tower, topped with a green copper dome, which could be seen as you drove along the Western Avenue/A40, between Greenford and Northolt. It was a local landmark.

Just got a scruffy old version of this for my workshop - my granddad had one in his workshop and I loved the smell. _Esso Blue_ was the fuel of choice back in the '70's.
Definitely going to get one of those at some point - it looks fantastic.
Seymour the cat wanted that box, was he allowed to climb in and trash it? _CHEERS!_

My parents have had several kerosun heaters over the years. Im from the US were call parafin kerosene. Parafin here is refered to as the wax used in candle making. I find it interesting that the flame in your heater is blue. Where in Kerosun is yellow.

When I was using one I always Filled, Lit, and Snuffed it outdoors. Great Heater but I spilled the K too often and couldnt deal with the smell. But thats just my opinion

I have a paraffin heater in my greenhouse, it has two chimneys (burners) though I only need one running usually

Just done a Google search and that heater is quite expensive. I'm in the UK, and I got myself a Zibro LC2230 for just under £300 from a company in the UK and it's much more economical. Although it has to be plugged into the electric but uses very little, it can run up to 65 hours on 5.4 litres of paraffin with the right settings.

Beautiful heater!!! They don’t make them like this in the US anymore!!! All they sell is cheap crapy ones (for around $300 or less). I with they sold these in the US!

HAD a kerosene heater worked good but was highly concerned about carbon monoxide, and was right, so got rid of it, BUT it worked good😊

That heater looks great! i have a Toyotomi one purchased from Amazon Spain but the Aladdin heater design look very retro. I saw the seller's page earlier. Did you have to pay any customs duty since it is coming from Japan?
