The history of Wisconsin is so much more than just exhibits in museums. The 30th state has a long, rich story behind its modern-day facade. Thousands of years ago, ancient peoples hunted giant beasts on the frozen glaciers that have now given way to rivers and lakes. Rich cultures populated the frigid early forests of Wisconsin, eventually giving way to the arrival of French explorers. Soon, the British took over, ushering in an era of booming colonization, and Wisconsin saw its first recorded war. With the American Revolution, Wisconsin became free, and that brought a whole new set of challenges for its people to face.

If the ten-minute video just had to say Nicolet and Peshtigo once each, I could live with it. But why choose words that are important to our state's and country's history to mispronounce and use them repeatedly?

Nice that you showed mounds with palm trees.

Fascinating...especially your very odd pronunciation of Peshtigo. PESH-teh-go....not Pesh-TEE-go.

We're not just the dairy state but the nation's leading producer of cranberries. :)

I like your quality, in depth research that used a picture of a player that may be from Wisconsin but certainly never played for the Green Bay Packers

Interesting video. I have at least 5 members of my family who fought in Wisconsin Volunteer regiments during the Civil War. The Wisconsin 2nd and 23rd. My Great Great Grandfather started a town called Sioska after prospering as a store owner in Neillsville. In 2019 we were able to visit these areas and several others around the state. Beautiful state by the way but you sure get some wild summer storms.

Forgot to mention Queen Marinette in which the city of Marinette, Wisc. got its name. Indian (french-canadian) from Canada...fur trader. She was well respected...helped everyone. Her last Name was Chevalier. She built a house on Hall Avenue....which still stands today.

♦️With great excitement, etymologists and geologists solved a fascinating mystery about Wisconsin dialect, geography, and topography.

May years ago, the tectonic plate under the state of Wisconsin bumped into the tectonic plate under the state of Michigan, creating a fault line located along the Eastern edge of Wiscinsin which continues all the way to Niagria Falls, aptly named the Niagara escarpment.

It was at this moment that the Wisconsin tectonic plate first uttered the ubiquitous Wisconsin phrase “Ope, my fault.”

And the rest is history.

I see what you did there with JJ Watt lol

This was very educational up until the last part about the Green Bay Packers with the fictitious picture of JJ Watt in a Packers uniform. Wouldn’t it be more historically accurate to perhaps show a picture of an actual player, perhaps Bart Star?

Harley Davidson, the beer industry should get honorable mention.

Wisconsin has a few strange laws. For example, it is legal for minors under 18 to get drunk in bars as long as their parents are present. But once they turn 18, they can't drink in a bar under any circumstances!
